FESTIVAL WATCH THE TRAMORE RACES:THE TRAMORE Races start tomorrow and run until Sunday 17th, with 25,000 people expected to attend the four-day meet. There will be lots of other activities besides racing.

The days of the festival are themed: Thursday celebrates everything good about the Deise county, with a visit from the Waterford hurlers and a performance from Jukebox. Friday is beginners' day, when those new to racing can learn about its history and how to read the card. Saturday sees the main marquee transformed into a catwalk for fashion evening.

The "most fashionable lady and gent" will receive more than €2000 worth of Newbridge silverware. Sunday is family day, with the marquee again transformed, this time into a kids' club, where storyteller Pat Speight will keep them entertained along with a troupe of clowns and face painters.

Tickets start at €20 for adults, €15 for OAPs and students, and under-14s go free with an adult. A festival ticket for €60 is available. Visit www.tramore-racecourse.com for details.
