October 23rd will be a special day for educational activities to counter racism, the Minister of State for Equality and Law Reform, Ms Mary Wallace, has announced. She was speaking during the launch of an education pack for schools and clubs to mark European Year against Racism.

She said racism was a growing phenomenon throughout Europe, including Ireland, and young people had a crucial role in overcoming it.
