A 26-year-old man from Limerick has died in hospital as a result of head injuries suffered in an assault in Dublin two week ago.

Mr Thomas Maloney was attacked on Ushers Quay in the early hours of Sunday April 21st. It is understood he had missed the train to Limerick shortly before the attack.

Gardaí arrested two men in connection with the incident. Both men have been released without charge and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
