Swedish golfer Fredrik Jacobson has moved into the world's top 20 for the first time following his victory in the Volvo Masters at Valderrama yesterday.

Jacobson, 107th before his first tour win in Hong Kong last December, was 41st going into last week's event. But his win at the fourth hole of a play-off with Spaniard Carlos Rodiles elevates him to 19th.

The 29-year-old is also now lying third in the race for places in next September's Ryder Cup side.

Lee Westwood and Miguel Angel Jimenez currently lead the way in the Ryder Cup world points list with Dutchman Maarten Lafeber and Rodiles fourth and fifth.
