An American Trans Airlines plane had to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport in Co Clare last night due to technical difficulties.
The airport's emergency plan was put into operation, and the aircraft landed safely at 11.45 p.m.
Gardaí in Ennis said the pilots were experiencing difficulties controlling the plane's altitude. There were no injuries.
