A US engineering firm is to create 80 jobs in Castlebar, Co Mayo.
Fort Wayne Metals will invest €3.4 million, with the support of the IDA, in setting up a European centre for the making and distributing of its products.
The company, which makes precision-wire products for the medical industry, will be the first tenant at the new business and technology park in the town.
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Mary Harney said: "The company is currently focusing its growth strategy on the European market and this new Irish operation will be an integral part of that strategy".
Ms Harney said: "This is a very important investment for both the medical devices industry here and for Co Mayo, not least because of the employment setbacks suffered by the county in recent months".
