The US authorities have denied involvement in a number of explosions this evening in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul

The US authorities have denied involvement in a number of explosions this evening in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul. A number detonations have been heard in the direction of the airport.

Reports from CNN said tracer fire and missiles are flying across the city.

CNN suggested there have been multiple detonations and the sound of large incoming missiles hitting the city.

Anti-aircraft fire has also allegedly been heard. It is believed that a fuel dump has been hit.

Earlier the Afghan government denied any involvement in the terrorist attacks in the US. More details to follow.
