A major security alert atthe US Capitol was apparently triggered by a Halloweencostume, police said today.
The Cannon office building was shut down and evacuatedafter a man and woman passed through a security checkpoint withwhat appeared to be a revolver in a knapsack. Police said itwas in fact a fake gun and a Halloween costume.
