This weekend at UCC, the Minister for Education, Mr al Martin, will open what promises to be a most interesting conference on the topic - de Valera's Irelands.
Participants will include Dr Garret FitzGerald; Prof Owen Dudley Edwards; Prof Joe Lee; Dr John Logan, as well as Gearoid O Tuathaigh, Dr Gearoid O Crualaioch and Dr Catriona Clear.
Subjects to be discussed will vary from the price of de Valera's achievements through women in de Valera's Ireland to culture in the emerging State. The conference opens at 6,30 p.m. on Friday and continues through Saturday.
