Pristina - 2 killed after rockets fall on Serb on the outskirts of Kosovo's capital Pristina yesterday, killing two, wounding another 43 and setting teeth on edge throughout the province, writes Chris Stephen. As rescue workers moved through the scene of carnage, Serb mobs took to the streets, blocking roads and denouncing NATO troops patrolling the area.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but suspicion will fall on demobbed ethnic Albanian guerrillas. NATO later arrested four men, including two ethnic Albanians. The attack comes with tensions rising in the province, following the arrest by French peacekeepers of Serbs accused of war crimes and the discovery of yet more bodies of ethnic Albanians in mass graves. It confirms that even with 41,000 troops on the ground, a number higher than that in Bosnia, NATO cannot prevent tit-for-tat fighting continuing in the province.
