Two men have been remanded in custody after appearing in Cork District Court in connection with the seizure of cocaine with an estimated value of €100,000.

Mr William Roy Keohane (33), Blarney Street, Cork City and Mr Andrew Dineen (48), Sovereign View, Oysterhaven, Belgooley, Kinsale, Co Cork, were arrested last Tuesday night at a checkpoint at Camden Quay in the city when their car was searched by gardaí.

The officers seized one kilogramme of the drug, the court heard.

The two men were today charged with possession and possession for sale or supply of the drugs. Both were remanded in custody.

Mr Dineen was granted consent to bail of a €10,000 cash lodgement and a €10,000 independent surety to be approved by the court.

Mr Keohane was allowed consent to bail of €5,000.
