Two men remanded over Limerick shooting

Two men have been remanded in custody charged in connection with a shooting in Limerick yesterday.

Two men have been remanded in custody charged in connection with a shooting in Limerick yesterday.

Mr John Humphries (31), Keane Street, Kilalee, Limerick, and Mr Willie Moran (40), St Senan's Street, St Mary's Park, Limerick, are charged with possession of a firearm at Flood Street in the Garryowen area.

Five shots were allegedly fired at the back of a house in the street in the Garryowen area at 9.40 a.m. yesterday. In follow up searches, gardaí found a sawn-off shotgun and a .22 rifle on wasteground.

Limerick District Court heard that a woman in her 60's was in the house at the time and that one of the bullets went straight through a television and lodged in a teddy bear.

Both men were remanded in custody to reappear in court on January 28th .
