Two men killed in separate road crashes

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian have been killed in two separate incidents overnight.

A 32-year-old man lost control of his motorbike and crashed into a wall at the Old Fancourt Road, Balbriggan, killing him instantly.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, which happened at around 8.00 p.m.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Carrick-On-Shannon are appealing for witnesses to a crash in which a 33-year-old man died after being struck by a car at Cartown, Co Leitrim at around 4.20 a.m.

The driver of the car was interviewed at the scene. Gardaí want to speak to anyone who may have been a witness or who may have seen the pedestrian prior to the incident.
