Two Co Antrim men were charged yesterday with blackmail and collecting money for the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF). Mr Mervyn Adair (25), from Templeton Park, Templepatrick, and Mr Darren Smyth (26), from Moyadem Court, Parkgate, were alleged to have demanded £1,000 from a building contractor described in the charge sheet as Witness A.
The two men were remanded in custody until February 8th.
