Two people have been killed outside Limerick city after an articulated truck jack-knifed and collided with a van and a car this afternoon.

The crashes happened on the Limerick to Tipperary road at 3.30 p.m. at the village of Dromkeen 15 miles from the city.

A third person is in a critical condition in hospital.
