Two people are due in court this morning in connection with the shooting of a Garda sergeant in Dublin.

The 16-year-old male youth and 22-year-old man are due to appear before a special sitting of Dublin District Court to be charged over the shooting of sergeant Mark Clarke in Crumlin on Wednesday evening.

Sgt Clarke of Crumlin Garda station was on duty outside a house on Monasterboice Road just after 7am when he was shot in the arm and chest.

Yesterday, another 16-year-old male youth was remanded in custody over the shooting.
