THE drivers of a lorry and a milk tanker both died in a collision at the Four Roads, Durrow, three miles from Tullamore yesterday morning.

The lorry, fully laden with heavy pipes, was being driven by Mr Gerard Gorman (35), Screggan, Tullamore, while the Golden Vale bulk milk tanker was being driven by Mr Peter Gallagher (60), Dalystown, Mullingar. Both drivers were dead at the scene.

Mr Gallagher was a married man with a grown up family, while Mr Gorman was engaged to be married next month.

The busy road was blocked for several hours after the crash, littered with broken pipes and milk.
