A man (25) died after apparently losing control of his bike shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday at Kilskyre, Kells.

He was brought to Navan Hospital where he died a short time later.

Later yesterday, a motorcyclist (21) died at the scene when he collided with a car on Main Street, Dunboyne, at about 7.45 p.m. He was later named as Mr Leon O'Brien of Blakestown Cottages, Blakestown, Dublin 15.

Elsewhere, gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to an accident at the Triangle in Ranelagh on Friday morning when a 73-year-old pedestrian was knocked down by a truck.

Maureen Whelan, of Woodstock Crescent, Ranelagh, died after she was hit by a white truck.
