London - A leading British charity announced plans today for a pioneering research project to determine why a twin baby has a 49 per cent greater chance of dying from cot death than a single infant.

The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) said little information was available on how to prevent the mysterious death in twins.
