Attempts to track down an Irishman who was allegedly pushed or forced to jump from a fourth floor apartment building in Amsterdam have so far failed, a Dutch Court heard yesterday. It is known the man survived and fled the scene during a row believed to be drugs related

The trial of a Dublin man was being held up because his alleged victim Mr Michael O'Grady (25) from Galway could not be traced either in Ireland or Holland, judges in Amsterdam were told.

Mr Adrian Lawlor (31), has been in custody since last March charged with trying to kill or cause him grievous bodily harm by shooting at Mr O'Grady with a crossbow during an attack in an apartment in the Dutch capital.

Mr Lawlor was remanded in continuing custody. He had admitted possession of 46,680 ecstasy tablets with a street value of nearly €650,000, judges heard. He is also charged with carrying a crossbow and arrows and a knife concealed as a pen and using a false Irish driving licence.
