The Netherlands confirmed three new cases of foot-and-mouth disease today, bringing the total of infected farms to ten.

The Netherlands confirmed three new cases of foot-and-mouth disease today, bringing the total of infected farms to ten.

The new cases were in the eastern province of Gelderland,according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Two of the farms in Oosterwolde had already been suspected of carrying the virus, while a third in Kootwijkerbroek was not beingmonitored.

All cattle in a two-kilometre radius around the new sites will be killed to stop the virus spreading.
