Three people have been killed on the roads so far this bank holiday weekend.
A man in his 20s died this morning after his vehicle was involved in a collision with two other cars in Co Kildare.
The crash took place at Pike Bridge on the main Maynooth to Leixlip road shortly before 7am.
The males drivers of the other two cars were also injured in the collision and have been taken to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown although their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Two other people were killed in separate road crashes in counties Mayo and Limerick yesterday evening.
A woman in her early 50s died in a multi-vehicle collision at Bohola, Co Mayo on the N5 Castlebar to Swinford Road.
The deceased woman was understood to have been the driver of a car which crashed before 6pm yesterday.
Up to four vehicles were involved in the crash. At least three other people were taken to hospital with injuries.
The road was closed following the crash as gardaí investigated and it was expected to remain closed for the rest of the evening.
A man, who killed in a two vehicle collision at Kildimo, Co Limerick on the N69 Limerick to Kerry Road at about 6pm yesterday, was today named as Wai Kit Kwong (23) with an address in Easons Avenue, Shandon Street, Cork.
At least one other person was injured and was taken to hospital as a result of the crash. The road was closed last night pending a Garda technical investigation.
