Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with an attack on a 30 year-old man on Derry which left him in a critical condition.
The Police are treating the attack as attempted murder.
The attack took place in Galliagh Park shortly before 7 a.m.
Meanwhile a 38 year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following an attack in Belfast earlier today. The incident is believed to have occurred at around 2 a.m. on Beechnut Street in the Old Park Road area of the city.
The man is understood to have suffered severe head, abdominal and leg injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses in both cases.
