Three people who admitted taking part in illegal roadblocks in Derry last summer during the Orange Order's stand-off at Drumcree were bound over to keep the peace for two years when they appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court yesterday

Thomas Stone (36), a UDP candidate in last year's Forum elections, of Lincoln Court, Waterside, and husband and wife William (35) and Sylvia Moore (39), of Primity Crescent, also in the Waterside, were among a group of 16 summoned for taking part in roadblocks at Glendermott Road, Dale's Corner and Newbuildings between July 7th and July 11th.

The three were each bound over for £500 to keep the peace for two years. The Resident Magistrate, Mr Des Perry, said that period would cover the next two marching seasons. The other 13 accused had their cases adjourned until March 21st.
