BRUSSELS - Tens of thousands of demonstrators marched through Brussels yesterday, calling for EU action to defend jobs, amid widespread anger at a decision by Renault to close a Brussels car factory.
Some 500 police were deployed, and gendarmes on horse-back and others equipped with water cannon were also on stand-by near EU buildings.
