Two men, one armed with a knife, stole what gardai say is a "substantial amount" of cash in Co Waterford this evening.

The theft occurred outside the Bank of Ireland in Tramore at around 6p.m. when the takings form a local supermarket were stolen as they were about to be deposited.

One of the two thieves brandished a knife before making off - one on foot and one on a bicycle - with two bags of cash.
