Peter McLoone has been appointed to The Irish Times Trust.
Mr McLoone formerly served as general secretary of Impact from 1995 to his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the executive of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions for 17 years and was elected vice-president in 2003. He served as president of the Ictu from 2005-2007. He also chaired the public services committee of the Ictu.
He is a board member of the Labour Relations Commission and is on the governing body of the National College of Ireland and the Playing for Life charity.
The Irish Times Trust also announces the retirement of Judith Woodworth, Noel Dorr and David Begg as governors of the trust after 10 years of service.
