The Celtic Tenors, comprising Mr Matthew Gilsenan, Mr Niall Morris and Mr James Nelson, have obtained a High Court injunction restraining a management company from suggesting or alleging that it acts as their agents.

The trio is being sued by John Heron and Associates Ltd, The Cottage, Priorland, Co Dublin, for alleged breach of contract to star as the Original Three Irish Tenors in a series of concerts in Dublin and the US next December and January. Mr Gilsenan, of Moynalty, Kells, Co Meath; Mr Morris, of Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin, and Mr Nelson, of Hazelwood, Sligo, have counter-claimed for alleged breach of contract by John Heron and Associates, and yesterday the group was granted an interlocutory injunction restraining the concert promotions firm from holding itself out as their agent.

The injunction, granted by Mr Justice O'Donovan, will remain in force pending a full trial of the action later this year.

He held that there was a clear issue to be contested between the parties.
