A taxi driver has been stabbed with a syringe in west Dublin.

A taxi driver has been stabbed with a syringe in west Dublin.

The man was assaulted by a male passenger in Palmerstown at about 1.00 a.m.

The man had beenpicked up at Temple Bar and brought to Oakcourt Avenue wherehe pulled out the syringe, stabbed the driver, and escaped with €5 and some other items from the taxi.

There were no arrests and gardaí have appealed for witnesses.
