Dermot Weld completed a sparkling five-timer when Tarry Flynn defied top-weight under Pat Smullen in the Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh.
A delighted Weld, who trains on the course, said: "Tarry Flynn won this race three years ago and, encouraged by the excellent prize money, I have aimed him at the Lincoln again all winter."
"He was a Group Three winner in the past and ran a smashing second to Giant's Causeway in the Gladness Stakes at this meeting a year ago. He has been a great servant to us," added Dermot who topped up his Curragh treble with two more winners at Listowel.
Smullen, who took the jockeys' championship for the first time last season, started the afternoon with a well-executed pillar-to-post victory on Lethal Agenda in the Loughbrown Stakes.
"Lethal Agenda was fit after two runs in Dubai last month and Pat executed the tactics we worked out to perfection. Lethal Agenda was running over his ideal trip of seven furlongs and will come back here at the next meeting for the Tetrarch Stakes," said Weld of the 3-1 winner.
Smullen again shone aboard the blinkered Final Exam in the Ballymany Handicap over the minimum trip as he kept Weld's 9-2 chance held off Jacks Estate.
Champion trainer Aidan O'Brien and stable jockey Michael Kinane enjoyed their first two-year-old victory of the season as Rock Of Gibraltar justified some late support in the First Flier Maiden in the style of a smart colt.
O'Brien confirmed that his Epsom Derby favourite Galileo had come out of last Monday's Leopardstown victory in good shape and will run next at Leopardstown on May 13 in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial. PA
