Diary:Last year I arrived late to Oxegen. This time we arrived early, writes Patrick Kelly(18) from Drumalee, Cavan
Security was heavier than usual and the weather changed several times when we were in the queue, which took about an hour.
Every time it rained there was a roar. By the time we got to the campsite we were soaked, but we were all expecting it and we weren't too bothered.
The muck, though, was unreal. A lot of people who brought runners just abandoned them and walked around in their feet because their runners kept getting stuck in the mud.
Some people just gave up pitching their tents and bunked in with anyone who would have them.
Nobody minded. Lots of people were taking it in turns to do a mud angel whereby you lie down in the mud and flap your arms up and down and you leave an impression on the mud which looks like an angel's wings.
Somebody stole one of my wellies so I bought a spare one in the shop and spent the weekend walking around with a size 13 on one foot and a size seven on the other.
Friday night was great. Everyone was optimistic and looking forward to the music. There was a lot of drinking going on, but it was friendly rather than rowdy drinking.
We're serious music fans so we thought it was hilarious that Avril Lavigne was appearing at Oxegen on Saturday so we all decided to put the initials of her name across our chests to spell AVRIL.
We got our photographs taken about 50 times. We went up to the front, but we were hurt that she didn't acknowledge our efforts.
The music on Saturday was brilliant. Snow Patrol had a long set and by the time Muse came along we were all wrecked, though their light show was fantastic.
Yesterday was great too, but we were so spoiled for choice and we couldn't make up our minds whether to see The Killers or Daft Punk. It's not a bad complaint.
It was a great festival and we didn't mind the weather. Only at a place like Punchestown could you get sunstroke and pneumonia at the same time.
