RTE will transmit the most powerful shortwave broadcast ever made from Ireland on Sunday when the Radio 1 current affairs programme, This Week, is carried to various parts of the world.

The programme, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Irish time, will deal with the outcome of the presidential election. It will be broadcast on the following frequencies (in kilohertz): 5070, 7150, 13610, 15105, 15115, 17605, 11790 and 17810. The broadcast will be facilitated by transmitters in Britain, the United States, Singapore and Ascension Island.
