Lima - A Spanish national incarcerated in Peru was "devoured" by his fellow inmates in a "despicable cannibal act", according to Congresswoman Martha Chavez whose remarks were published in local newspapers.
The inmate was reported missing by employees of the Spanish consulate, the daily Ojo reported, citing Ms Chavez, a supporter of the disgraced former president, Mr Alberto Fujimori. She said the inmate had been threatened repeatedly, and requested a transfer.
