Northern Ireland has called off tomorrow's friendly soccer match against Malta at Windsor Park in Belfast as a mark of respect to those killed in the Omagh bomb blast.

Tonight's Under-21 friendly between Northern Ireland and Malta, due to take place at Castlereagh Park in Newtownards, has also been cancelled.

The Northern Ireland manager, Mr Lawrie McMenemy, said: "We are all family men, and it is so hard listening to those interviews with the parents who will never see their children walking in through the door again. Nothing is important after this, particularly a game of football."
