SIPTU has rejected reports that it is responsible for delays in RTE's breakfast television project. GMI (Good Morning Ireland) sources were cited in the Sunday Tribune yesterday as being "bemused" at a dispute over new rostering that would mean breakfast television was now deferred until the autumn.
However, a SIPTU spokesman at RTE said members had voted to reject the new rostering proposals a month ago. At the time, SIPTU members had been told by RTE and GMI that, in the event of RTE staff rejecting the changes, the work would be transferred elsewhere.
