Road widening on the N7 in Dublin means that one lane will be closed eastbound from the Poitin Stil pub to Citywest - but only on Friday and Saturday nights.

Also in Dublin, the speed limit has been reduced, from 70 mph down to 40 mph, on the N11 between the Wilford and Loughlinstown roundabouts until at least March and speed checks are in place.

Until February 25th, Sandyford Road is closed from Main Street Dundrum to Wyckham Bypass and diversions are sign posted.

Sportswise, there is racing at Naas on Saturday and, on Sunday traffic may be congested around Leopardstown Race Course where the AIG Championship Hurdles is being held.

Traffic is also predicted to be heavy around at the Sportsground in Galway on Saturday where Connacht take on the Cardiff Blues in the Celtic League at 2 p.m.

In Louth there will be delays at busy times on the inner relief road in Dundalk due to resufacing work.

In Waterford temporary lights are in operation between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily on the N25 on the Dungarvan side of Kilmeaden.

There is flooding in Sligo on the slip road between the Bundoran Road and the Rosses Point - known locally as Scotchman's Walk. The AA says the road is passable but has advised motorists to care.

Bad weather delays appear to be over on the ferry routes but the Rosslare/Pembroke services are in dry dock until 21.00 hrs on Saturday, January 22nd.

Stena Line HSS services from Dún Laoghaire are temporarily suspended for scheduled maintenance until Thursday, February 10th, at 11.10 a.m.
