Blood and tissue samples from a sheep found yesterday at Ballon Meats Plant, Co Carlow, will be sent to Pirbright laboratory later today.
The animal, from a farm at Kilbride, Co Carlow, had mouth lesions. The factory was closed down but the Department of Agriculture said the samples were being sent as a precautionary measure.
