The European Rugby Cup (ERC) has withheld it's decision on Ireland hooker Frankie Sheahan's punishment until later in the week after the Munster player tested positive for a banned substance, it was announced today.
Sheahan tested positive for Salbutamol after being randomly tested by the ERC following Munster's Heineken Cup semi-final against Toulouse in April 2003.
He was interviewed today by a three man panel in Dublin, where he had an opportunity to put across his side of the story.
He withdrew from the Ireland team that toured Australia in June as a result ofthe failed test which he claimed was the result of an administrative error whenhe neglected to fill in a form saying he was taking the drug as part of ananti-asthma preparation.
