Judge Donal McArdle, at Belturbet District Court, yesterday struck out proceedings against an 82-year-old man who faced 75 summonses alleging indecent assault on five girls over an 11-year period from 1946. RTE also successfully applied to have a ban on the publication and broadcast of proceedings lifted and to have video films seized at the last court returned to them. The judge made no order as to publication and directed that the video films be handed back to RTE.
