The sentencing of a Kenmare man, who has pleaded guilty to more than 20 charges against six children, has been adjourned at the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee, with his being remanded on continuing strict bail conditions.

The July court hearing in Tralee heard explicit details of how Gustav Dahm (35), Pier Road, Kenmare, who pleaded guilty, had committed indecent and sexual assaults against the children from 1986 to 2003. The charges also included gross indecency.

Psychological reports were handed into court yesterday in which Dahm told psychologists he was bullied while at school and had suffered sexual abuse as a teenager.

A number of the victims and their families were in court yesterday for the sentence hearing.

Judge Carroll Moran said the application was for a lengthy adjournment so Dahm could continue his treatment. A huge number of important factors had been put forward from different directions and he wished to consider the matter. He adjourned his decision until October 27th.
