Delays in Dublin Airport caused by security checks have eased, but travellers are being advised to give themselves plenty of time.

Dublin Airport Authority is advising passengers to check in 90 minutes before their flight time and go directly to the security checkpoint once they have checked in.

A spokeswoman for the Dublin Airport Authority said delays were expected between 11am and 2pm, and that there had been some delays between 6am and 7.30am today, but that these were normally the airport's busiest periods.

The longest delays were 29 minutes, she said, and passengers were missing flights as a result.
