On February 28th, Mr Justice Hooper directed a 17-year-old youth to be cleared of similar charges after throwing out the evidence of a 14-year-old girl who claimed she had witnessed the killing.

Two brothers, both aged 16, remain charged with Damilola's death. They deny involvement.

Damilola, 10, died in November 2000 after being stabbed with a broken bottle in the North Peckham Estate, south London.

The boy released today was 13 when he was arrested by police, along with 13 others, during dawn raids on their homes in December 2000.
