A search of the area around Glencolumbkille, Co Donegal, continued yesterday for missing hillwalker Kelly Jones from the United States.
Ms Jones (41), from Texas, works in the catering industry in Charleston, South Carolina, and was travelling in Ireland alone. She was in the west of the county for 10 days before being reported missing on Sunday afternoon from the hostel at Malinmore.
Her father Ricky is due in Donegal tomorrow from Georgia to join the search for her. He told gardaí that he was praying she may have gone away from her hostel near Glencolumbkille for a few days to an unknown location without telling anyone.
The Coast Guard helicopter from Strandhill, Co Sligo, was assisting in the search along with rescue units from Killybegs Coast Guard and teams from Donegal Mountain Rescue.
