Scottish witnesses will be called to give evidence at the trial of a Scotsman accused of making a threatening phone call, the Special Criminal Court was told yesterday.

Mr Hugh Smith McMahon (30), a native of Glasgow with an address at Matt Talbot Court, Dublin, is charged with sending a threatening message telephone on March 22nd last year.

Assistant State Solicitor Mr Patrick Geraghty said there were 17 witnesses in the case and there could be additional technical witnesses. He said some of the witnesses would have to travel from Scotland for the trial.

The court remanded Mr Smith McMahon on continuing bail until April 8th when a trial date will be fixed.
