Moscow - Russia successfully tested a series of strategic missiles yesterday, including a type which can also be used for commercial satellite launches, according to the military authorities. The PC-12M Topol missile hit its target after a launch from the Plesetsk base in the far north as part of a series of exercises to test new weaponry, the Strategic Missile Force's press service told the Interfax news agency.
The exercise was designed to study ways of prolonging the service life of Russia's existing intercontinental ballistic missile stock, the agency said.
