Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the robbery of a Dublin bookmakers yesterday afternoon in which the suspect had an unsuspecting taxi driver wait while he carried out the raid.

A lone man, described as being between 5’8’’ and 5’9’’ in height, and dressed in light blue jeans, a blue jacket with the hood up and white runners, held up Ladbrokes on Camden street at 4.30pm. The suspect, who is said to be in his late 20s and was also carrying a small dark bag.

He arrived in a red old-style Toyota or Nissan taxi, which parked on Pleasant Street. After the robbery he went back to the waiting taxi which drove along Pleasant Street and turned right onto Heythesbury Street towards Kevin Street. It is believed that the taxi driver was unaware of what had happened.
