Roald Dahl is Ireland’s favourite children’s author, according to a Unesco World Book Day survey yesterday.
Dahl topped the poll among parents and children while Derek Landy ranked as the most popular Irish author.
Books by these authors and others will be free to children as part of World Book 2012 which aims to get children from all backgrounds to read.
Irish booksellers are sponsoring more than one million special tokens for primary school children until March 25th.
