The Irish Red Cross has extended by two weeks its deadline for applications from people seeking financial assistance following severe flooding in the south and west of the country.

The organisation’s Irish Red Cross Floods Disaster Appeal has raised over €1 million. Applicants will not be means tested but that an assessment process will be carried out.

The new deadline for applications is February 5th and application forms can be received from the Red Cross.

According to the charity, payments from the fund will be considered independently of other forms of compensation or assistance people may receive.
