A mildly mentally retarded man who was said to have formed a steady relationship with a woman since pleading guilty to raping her has been further remanded on bail to March 20th next.

The court heard Mr Justice Feargus Flood was not available yesterday to deal with sentence at the Central Criminal Court. At an earlier hearing, Mr Justice Flood said the defendant (42) and his victim could continue to see each other but they could not live together. That was made a condition of his bail.
