Racing: This afternoon's meeting at Cheltenham will go ahead but doubts remain over the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap, which if abandoned, will put the meeting back bay 35 minutes.
Clerk of the course Simon Claisse delivered a positive bulletin following this morning's 8am inspection as the new course overcame freezing overnight temperatures.
However, officials will stage a second inspection at 10am regarding the cross-country race scheduled for 1.20pm. If abandoned the race card will begin at 12.45pm instead of 12.10pm.
"Overnight temperatures dipped to minus-three degrees but we are racing," confirmed Claisse.
"Temperatures have been rising since daybreak but have dropped a bit since then, so we are not really in a position to make a decision (about the cross-country race) just yet."
Contingency plans are also in place to run the cross-country event on Saturday's card at Prestbury Park.
This afternoon's meeting at Doncaster was also given the all-clear after a successful early-morning inspection.
"Everywhere is white, but it looks a harder frost than it actually is," said David Williams, Clerk of the course. "It is more an air frost than anything else so we are OK to race."
The going for the seven-race fixture is good, good to soft in places.
